ELEKTRACAR was born in 2007 in Formentera with the desire to offer a new way of visiting one of the last paradises of the Mediterranean and to promote renewable energies as a real alternative showing it is feasible, afforadble and sustainable.
In our service we look for those tourists who think that Formentera is different, who are visiting the island with the attitude and respect it deserves.Those who want to minimise the impact of their footprint in the island.
We rent and sell only electric vehicles, silent and local zero emission, very important for maintaining the climate of peace and tranquility for locals and those who choose the island to enjoy their holidays.
We know that unfortunately this is not the norm, but gradually our message is diffusing amongst the politicians, resident's society and tourists, and we are going to incorporate the electric vehicle in their daily lives.
Formentera is an icon of freedom and transgression. It is not uncommon to see people go to work every day with the futuristic aesthetic of electric cars, scooters that do not make noise or bicycles they carry anywhere with little effort, free to go wherever they want without smoke, without noise and without gasoline. There are those who have switched the chip and that have signed up to the mobility of local zero emission. Oh, and at an approximate cost of 0.60 € of electricity per 100 km.
We believe that this is the best choice for the present and future of the island.
